Sandbox vs Production

Connect provides two separate environments:

  • Sandbox for integration and testing
  • Production for live customer traffic

Most partners begin in Sandbox, complete their integration and validation flows, and then move to Production once onboarding is complete.

Sandbox Environment

The Sandbox environment is a fully functional environment designed for development, testing, and validation.

Partners can use Sandbox to:

  • Authenticate with the API
  • Retrieve Product Offerings
  • Create Accounts, Subscribers, and Orders
  • Receive webhook events
  • Test lifecycle flows
  • Provision eSIMs
  • Validate connectivity flows, including mobile data usage

Sandbox is intended to simulate real provisioning and lifecycle behavior as closely as possible before going live.

Sandbox supports end-to-end connectivity testing, including eSIM installation and mobile data validation.

During onboarding, 1GLOBAL configures a dedicated Sandbox environment and provides the credentials required for testing.

Production Environment

The Production environment is used for real customer traffic and live connectivity provisioning.

Once onboarding and validation are completed, 1GLOBAL configures the Production environment and provides production credentials.

Production should only be used after your integration is validated and operationally ready. See the Go to Production checklist for the full readiness criteria.

Environment Separation

Sandbox and Production are fully separated environments.

This includes:

  • Credentials
  • API traffic
  • Webhook endpoints
  • Provisioned resources
  • Operational data

Resources created in Sandbox do not exist in Production.

Typical Partner Journey

Most partners follow this onboarding sequence:

  1. Receive Sandbox credentials
  2. Build the integration and validate it against the checklist below
  3. Receive Production credentials
  4. Go live in Production

Before moving to Production, validate:

  • Authentication flows
  • Product Offering synchronization
  • Order creation and retries
  • Webhook delivery and signature validation
  • eSIM installation flows
  • Connectivity activation
  • Error handling and timeout scenarios
